About the Project
This first of a kind project involved retrofitting the existing the State Virology High Containment Laboratories to upgrade the laboratories suite envelope to achieve an air leakage rate in accordance with Australian / New Zealand Standard (AS/NZ 2243.3.2010). On completion the suite delivered the highest rating of air containment ever achieved in Ireland.
The scope of works included specialised wall and floor finishes and highly detailed bespoke stainless steel fittings, stainless steel welding installation of plenums etc, upgrade to the mechanical and electrical services systems to the suite, installation of specialist doors including submarine doors at pass through and Autoclave areas, skilled work with power and data cabling including specific measures for potting all cabling to prevent air leakage, installation of bespoke stainless steel potting joint boxes.
